Adele’s response to Donald Trump’s vile, sexist yet thoroughly entertaining press conference would have sent us all out in silence, if not for the queen of trolls making light of the occasion and giving Adele an arse-covering real-life photo op.
When Oprah asked if she was planning on writing a tell-all book about her time at Trump’s table, Adele faced Trump squarely with an incredulous look in her eyes. “I won’t write a tell-all book,” she said. “Because I don’t give a fuck about him.”
And she has a point. I’m not in the least bit interested in a book Adele surely has written about her experience as a guest at the white table.
Oprah asked if Adele planned to write a tell-all book about her experience as a guest at the white table, and she did not give a fuck about him
Oprah responded, “So in your many interactions with him, did you find him to be good company?” To which Adele said: “No, and it’s probably the same for many women … They’re just not in the room with him.” And that was that.
But that doesn’t mean that telling off her ostentatious and unlikeable human predator doesn’t make her feel like she has won the crown.
Since her statements, Adele has regained the top spot on “most viewed video” on YouTube, which is just the latest victory in her long win streak. Her explosive two-minute interview with Oprah was filmed in New York, and has now amassed just over 13m views.
The reaction videos of Adele from fans are heartbreaking. In the New York Times, a woman with absolutely no talents or job-development plans rips up Adele’s entire stack of Grammys and throws them in the street.

That’s a reaction viewers might never have seen coming, but Adele has always personified the fierce, uncompromising, self-aware streak that follows her wherever she goes. Her relationship with her pop star boyfriend Simon Konecki also showcases her capacity for self-abnegation.
Watching this white pantsuit-clad Adele attack the media’s plantation mentality makes us want to raise a champagne toast to the little Airmo Princess who beat us all down in the glare of the spotlight.
If you thought Adele was taken aback by Trump’s press conference, just wait till she sees what comes next in our Wild West, Black-ish-fueled political climate.
