A Burger King in Rolesville, North Carolina, was the scene of a drive-thru shooting that injured two small children earlier this week. It happened after a dispute between two young men escalated inside the restaurant, followed by gunfire outside, which injured a man and injured a woman who had gone to assist the victims.
One witness, who would only provide a first name, David, told WWAY-TV that the two men were reportedly feuding in a group-on-group fashion when they ended up at Burger King. David said the police were “real quick” about removing people from the restaurant following the incident, which left a 22-year-old man with a gunshot wound and a 7-year-old girl with a bruised arm and a 9-year-old boy with minor injuries. According to David, the argument that got the men to the Burger King, though minor in its origins, was only one of many that spilled out from the group in front of the restaurant. David claimed that some of the cars were that of innocent bystanders, who were never aware of what was going on inside the restaurant.
David also described his friend in the restaurant as being really sick, saying that it was likely he was trying to play it cool when he confronted the men. But one of the men pressed him too hard, prompting him to offer a few choice words, which escalated the argument into a physical struggle. David added that it was the younger man who pulled out the gun and opened fire during the argument. He said the victim who sustained a gunshot wound was in his late teens or early 20s, but did not know if the other man was under 25.

Both of the people injured in the shooting told police that they did not see who pulled out the gun. Police report that the shooter fled the scene in a white sedan. So far, no arrests have been made in the case.
