Walker explained he is no longer running for Senate because he is focusing on reelection as Wisconsin’s governor. He believes the job of U.S. Senator is not for him but will keep up his fight for the environment.
Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wisconsin, said the timing of Walker’s decision is curious considering she’s the only statewide elected Democrat in Wisconsin today.
The governor said it’s time for the U.S. Senate to move on from Chris Cuomo’s outrageous and embarrassing questions to John Cornyn, R-Texas, who was on a domestic terrorist flight simulator.
The timing of Governor Walker’s resignation is noteworthy considering he also is serving out the remainder of a term he didn’t win.
Walker confirmed the departure of Margarita Perez to the new position of Commerce Secretary.
The governor pointed out, that after 9-11 the U.S. economy rebounded and that this type of movement towards sustainability also could be used to stem a crisis stemming from the same European Union member nations that would not even lend a hand to stranded Europeans whose beaches are filled with dead fish.
