Carers allowance 2021: Carers could get £270 extra per month | Personal Finance | Finance

The next payment of Carer’s Allowance Supplement will happen sometime in December 2021 for claimants of Carer’s Allowance, who will get paid on October 11, 2021.

Anyone looking to apply for this supplementary payment must be aware that the person they care for must live in Scotland and cannot be based in another part of the UK.

In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Scottish Government announced an extra one-off payment boost to Carer’s Allowance Supplement to support carers during the crisis.

This was a payment of £230.10 in June 2020, however carers whose Carer’s Allowance awards were backdated may have got this in December 2020.

For claimants who have not received this payment but had their supplementary benefit backdated to include April 13 2020, they should get in contact with Social Security Scotland.
